At home we can have a vegetable garden, or if there is no land/space for that there are projects like community gardens where people can sign up to have a plot and grow their crops. There are also some interesting methods for increasing food production locally that can be done throughout the city with indoor greenhouses, community gardens, pillar planters, and transforming building space into areas to grow food, while being useful for the business or school as well. In Japan, they have companies where they have food vines growing throughout the building that are harvested to be used in the cafeteria. This can also be input into the systems in schools for local, fresh and more organic foods.
